Ultivora Technologies (“Ultivora”) is committed to recruitment that is based on merit, skills and suitability for the role. We believe every candidate deserves a fair and respectful hearing, and that diverse teams build stronger organisations.
1.Policy statement
We do not discriminate against, and we do not help any employer to discriminate against, any candidate or colleague on grounds that are unrelated to the genuine requirements of a role. This commitment applies to every stage of our work, including sourcing, advertising, screening, shortlisting, interviewing, offers and feedback.
2.Who this Policy covers
This Policy applies to all Ultivora personnel and to anyone acting on our behalf. It covers candidates, employers, referees, business partners and visitors with whom we deal.
3.Grounds on which we do not discriminate
We do not discriminate on the basis of:
- Gender, gender identity or expression, or sexual orientation.
- Religion, caste, community, race, ethnicity, language, place of birth or region of origin.
- Disability, including physical, sensory, intellectual and mental health conditions.
- HIV status or any other health condition, except where a medical requirement is lawful and genuinely essential to the role.
- Marital or parental status, pregnancy, or family responsibilities.
- Age, except where a minimum or maximum age is set by law or is a genuine occupational requirement.
This list is illustrative. Our commitment extends to any other ground of unfair discrimination prohibited by law.
4.Legal framework
We conduct our work in line with Indian laws that promote equality in employment, including the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019, the HIV and AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017, the Code on Wages, 2019 (which includes provisions against gender discrimination in recruitment and wages), and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
5.How we put this into practice
- We assess candidates against the skills, experience and qualifications that a role genuinely needs.
- We write role descriptions and outreach in neutral, inclusive language.
- We ask employers to explain the real requirements of a role, and we question requirements that appear to be unrelated to the job.
- We ask the same relevant questions of every candidate for a role, and avoid personal questions that are not needed for the job.
- We aim to provide reasonable adjustments in our process, such as accessible interview arrangements, when a candidate tells us they need them.
- We train our team on fair recruitment and review our own practices regularly.
6.Our expectations of employers
We will decline, or ask to be changed, any instruction from an employer that would require us to exclude or prefer candidates on a discriminatory basis. If an employer persists, we reserve the right to withdraw from the engagement.
7.Respectful conduct and prevention of sexual harassment
We expect everyone involved in our process, including our team, candidates and employers, to behave with courtesy and respect. Sexual harassment, bullying, intimidation and abuse are not tolerated. We follow the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 within our own workplace, and will act on any report of such conduct towards candidates in connection with our services.
8.Raising a concern
If you believe that you have experienced or witnessed discrimination or disrespectful conduct in connection with our services, please tell us through the process in our Grievance Redressal Policy. We will treat the matter confidentially and seriously, and we do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
9.Review and contact
